Form 1 :
I had chosen a path not many would take.
To enroll in a school where I didn't know a soul,
except my mom perhaps.
I remember my very very first day of school,
the very first friend I made :)
the very first guy I hit xD
This was the year I started attending choir,
to sing in different parts,
to be scolded by Mr. Khaw.
I remember my form teacher - dear En. Rifqi.
How we enjoyed his large handwriting on the board,
no one, no matter how short-sighted, could ever not make out what he wrote.
This was the year I made new friends,
through projects, and sketches, and even through crushes?
That year I always thought "Wow, these fifth formers sure are intimidating!",
and always tried to stay out of their way.
I also got myself two wonderful godbrothers this year,
one older than the other.
That year I fretted about the little things,
like folios and homework and tests.
Ah, what a year it was =)
Form 2:
This year
I don't really remember anything all that outstanding.
Perhaps maybe that bout of food poisoning that lasted a whole weekend,
and the beginning of the fascination I have with my family history.
Oh, and I did enjoy CNY with my cousin who are currently down under.
Must've been the only CNY I've ever spent with them.
This was the year I got a taste of the real world,
I'd rather not elaborate,
though I will say it totally was an eye-opener.
This too was the the year I participated in the prefects camp,
probably was the first time I slept so little in 3 days.
I remember sleeping on the floor for the first time,
and waking up at 4a.m. just to be able to take a shower!
Form 3:
PMR year it was.
Second taste of pressure for a public exam.
I took part in the school's second annual concert,
dancing o.O and singing in the choir.
I got myself another godbrother this year,
cool, dark, and very protective he was.
But he was indeed very nice to me.
Probably the highlight of the year was the trip Down Under,
best holiday I'd had in a while.
Coming back from Australia,
the choir & ELS went on a trip to Genting,
where it was indeed disastrous
as the weather was not with us.
Though, I did have some great experiences there.
So, after Genting marked Christmas,
and RESULTS DAY soon after.
Thank God for my results,
I couldn't have done it without Him.
Form 4:
This was where high school really started :)
New system to get used to,
what with biology and physics and chemistry,
add maths and modern maths too.
This was the first year I really participated in stuff,
like debate - POI!!!
and choir - there was a choir camp hosted in our school;
and that amazing leadership camp in June.
The latter camp saw us being drenched in H2O,
wading through mud,
and overcoming certain fears -
like walking through a pitch dark school with only a candle for light,
and trusting your team mates enough to conquer tasks being set.
Of course, I also learnt that
my bed is the best, and not the floor x)
My classmates and I rallied together to man a stall for the food fair held in school that year.
Selling fruit juices, ice-cream and spaghetti really pulled us together,
we worked hard and had fun,
especially at the end where we had to call LELONG to finish off our fruits.
We managed a 2nd place finish for ticket sales,
and emerged champion for d-day sales.
And to celebrate our win and spend our prize money,
we decided on a trip to Batu Ferringhi.
This was the trip I got sick, drenched, and spooked.
Curse the rain (again).
Oh yeah,
I almost forgot about that I Am Survivor thingy we participated in.
Form 5:
The BIG ONE.
Well, SPM year, if you didn't know.
Being bombarded with homework was part of everyday life,
getting all of them done was supposedly an incredible feat.
I passed my driving test this year,
along with many many friends of mine.
This was the year our friendships grew stronger,
and got to know one another better.
All I really remember about this year is studying.
I seriously do not recall one moment this year without a nagging feeling at the back of my mind telling me to buck up.
Graduation.
It all seemed not too long ago we were the kids in Form 1.
And then we had Prom,
or at least what we called Prom.
We saw guys and girls dress up like we've never seen before,
some totally blew us away :)
Now that our years of high school have come to an end, there is always this question whether things will always be the same - whether our friendships will last, or whether we'd be able to have fun like the good old days. Maybe, yet maybe not. But I do know that with a little effort, we can relive these memories, the old times whenever we want. :)
